Dominica grows its relationship with the Middle East, opening its first embassy in the region
29 January 2020

In a ceremony that took place on January 21, 2020, Dominica officially opened its first embassy in the Middle East, located in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dominica’s Prime Minister, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, attended the event and gave a speech.

PM Skerrit said, "Thanks to the Citizenship by Investment Program, Dominica already has a small but dynamic population, resident in the UAE and contributing to the dynamism of its service sector and to sustainable development at home." He added that the embassy would serve as "a crucial link between what is in effect the Dominican diaspora here in the UAE and the homeland."

Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program is rated the best in the world, according to the Financial Times' CBI Index, and offers single and family applicants second citizenship in the country in exchange for an investment in Dominica’s Economic Diversification Fund or in a CBI-approved real estate project in the country. Dominica’s CBI program is highly regarded for its efficient application process and for its affordability, with investment beginning at USD100,000 in the Economic Diversification Fund or a minimum of USD200,000 in real estate. Benefits of citizenship include visa-free travel to Schengen countries, as well as the UK. No physical residency or interview is required for the application process and citizenship can be obtained in four months.
